Textile Print Types

When it comes to custom fabric printing, understanding the type of print technique is just as important as choosing the right fabric or design. Two of the most common approaches in fashion and textile design are Pattern Placement Printing and All Over Printing (AOP). Each serves a different creative and technical purpose—whether you're positioning a motif precisely on a garment panel or flooding the fabric edge-to-edge with repeat prints.

Pattern Set/Engineered Prints

Engineered prints are custom-designed such that motifs appear at specific parts of a garment — like the neckline, hem, or sleeve. These prints are carefully aligned and placed to follow the structure of the garment, resulting in a more artistic and intentional visual impact.

Running Print (All-Over Print)

Running prints, also known as all-over prints (AOP), are continuous, repeating designs that flow seamlessly across the fabric. The same motif repeats end-to-end — regardless of how the fabric is cut — making it ideal for mass production and flexible usage.
